The
Vesuvio falls between volcanoes Popular in the world, situated on the plain bell. The mountain rises to a height of 1277 meters and consists of two peaks: Mount Vesuvius and Monte Somma.
Its history is known through the story of Pliny the Younger who describes the eruption of 79 AD C. Destroyed Pompeii, Herculaneum and Stabia, burying whole cities under a blanket of ash, lava and mud.
The volcano is currently in a state of quiet and natural work of art is breathtaking in the Gulf of Naples: just think that from the crater of Vesuvius can see the entire Gulf of Naples, Penisola
Sorrento,
Capri, Ischia and Procida. You can also visit the crater of Vesuvius with a walking tour lasting about 45 minutes.
From Positano you can reach the Vesuvius by bus till Sorrento, then from Sorrento to Pompeii by train and finally from Pompeii to Vesuvius by bus,
